Our history

PROGRESS

Trafime is currently the leading Italian company in the fine blanking industry. Its origins date back to 1967, when it was founded as a company specializing in conventional blanking. It quickly evolved into fine blanking, which has become the core of its business.
Its growth has spanned various industrial sectors, including electronics, telecommunications, and automotive. Furthermore, the company has also focused on the production of limited series for various industrial sectors both in Italy and abroad.

Mold production

WORK

The launch of a mechanical workshop specializing in mold construction has positioned Trafime as a leading player in the Italian and European industrial landscape.

The production of stamped components using Fine Blanking technology is the result of a sophisticated production system, designed to handle large volumes of materials entering and exiting the stamping station. This system stands out for its exceptional optimization of mold design, aimed at ensuring reliable operation according to the pressure programming parameters.

Molds are not simply passive tools, but active elements with hydraulic functions integrated with the main operations of the press. It is clear that expertise in the design and construction of these active parts is a fundamental skill.

As early as 1967, Trafime established an internal division dedicated to mold design and construction. Today, a state-of-the-art facility, at the forefront of molding technology, has been inaugurated in the new Bibbiano production district.

Unsurpassed results

WORK

Thanks to its extensive experience in die design and its constant commitment to ensuring high quality standards, Trafime has achieved excellent results that are likely still unsurpassed. A significant example is the mass production of telephone tokens for SIP, Italy’s leading telephone company, which still represents the largest series ever produced in the world using fine-stamping technology.

Another important innovative contribution was the creation of the bimetallic coin model, now widely used globally. The mintable base for the first bimetallic coin, the 500 lire, was developed by Trafime.

The same technology is currently used to produce the 1 and 2 euro coins.
